Community helps to green outdoor space

As you may know, the Yeppoon Recreation Youth Club Inc. (YRYC) manages and maintains the Queen Street Community Hall. Weekly recreational classes are held inside the hall. In addition to this, YRYC is currently working on the hall grounds, with the aim of creating an outdoor community space that will be used for community recreational activities and youth and community events.

As shown in the photos, the YRYC committee and the Queen Street Community “Hall Helpers” have made great progress on the outdoor space. This is also thanks to the help of a number of local businesses, as well as a donation from the Yeppoon Community Markets.

We would like to extend our thanks to:

  • Brad Epple for his nifty work with the digger

  • Big Al’s Turf for providing turf and donating some additional turf

  • Bob Beezley (Bob Beezley Stone Masonry) and Sabrina Burke (Red Veranda Designs and Services) for brainstorming ideas and providing future landscaping guidance

  • Capricorn Coast Sand and Soil for their in-kind donation of top soil

  • The Yeppoon Community Markets for their donation to cover excavator hire and turf

We look forward to continuing to improve this space and encourage people to join us for our next working/planting bee which will be advertised on this website and our Facebook page.
