More grant success!
It has been a busy last few months of the year, with various grants being submitted by the Yeppoon Recreation Youth Club (YRYC) inc. committee members, to enable the continued upkeep and enhancement of the Queen Street Community Hall.
Two recently successful grants include the "Livingstone Shire Council, Keppel Bay Sailing Club and Inverness Yeppoon, 2017/18 Round One Community Grant", and the "Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) 2017-18".
The hall received $1900 from the community grant, to purchase a projector screen- a great asset for the whole community and the various groups and organisations that hire the hall.
The $3758 RADF grant will be put towards engaging Nici Long from Cave Urban to teach local artists and community members the skills to build structures and installations from bamboo to showcase at events in Yeppoon. The masterclass will explore bamboo harvesting, treatment and design concepts and will produce an art installation in the outdoor community space at Queen Street Community Hall.
YRYC inc. (the Hall committee) are extremely thankful to the funding bodies and look forward to delivering some more great projects for the community.
